The island
Five lands, five resources
Every game is played on an island of hex tiles. Each land produces one resource. Settle where the lands you need meet, and the island pays you every time their number is rolled.

- DunesNothing. The Bandit starts here.
Read the numbers
Each land carries a number from 2 to 12. The dots under it show how many of the 36 ways two dice can land make that total. The red 6 and 8 come up most often, so those lands pay out most often. Every land pays the same amount when its number comes up.

Your turn
Roll, collect, trade, build
Roll
Two dice pick a number. Every land showing it produces.
Collect
Each Village beside a producing land takes 1 card, each Town takes 2. Everyone collects, not only the roller.
Trade
Offer any swap to the other players, or trade with the Reserve at 4 for 1. A harbour cuts that to 3 for 1, or 2 for 1 in its own resource.
Build
Spend cards on Roads, Villages, Towns and Charter cards, then pass the dice.
Rolled a 7? Nobody collects. Anyone holding more than 7 cards gives back half. The roller moves the Bandit onto any other land, which stops it paying, and takes a random card from a player beside it.
Building
What everything costs
Villages go on corners where lands meet, with at least one empty corner between buildings. Roads connect them. A Town replaces one of your Villages and collects double.
Road
Connects your buildings. Needed to reach new corners.
1 Timber1 Clay
Village
1 point. Collects 1 card when a land beside it pays.
1 Timber1 Clay1 Fleece1 Grain
Town
2 points. Replaces a Village and collects 2 cards.
2 Grain3 Ore
Charter card
Draw a face-down card from the deck.
1 Fleece1 Grain1 Ore
Each player has 15 Roads, 5 Villages and 4 Towns. The Reserve holds 19 of each resource.
Charter cards
A deck of 25 surprises
Buy a Charter card and you draw from a face-down deck. Five kinds, each with a different twist.
- 14 in the deck
Sepoy
Move the Bandit and take a card from a rival. You can play it before you roll.
- 2 in the deck
Roadworks
Build 2 Roads for free.
- 2 in the deck
Monsoon
Take any 2 resources from the Reserve.
- 2 in the deck
Tribute
Name a resource. Every other player hands over all of theirs.
- 5 in the deck
Landmark
+1 point the moment you draw it. Only you can see it until the game ends.
Play one Charter card a turn, and never one you bought that turn.
The five Landmarks: Lighthouse, Bazaar, Stepwell, Observatory and Fort.
Winning
First to 10 points on their own turn
Villages are worth 1 point and Towns 2. Two awards are worth 2 points each, and they change hands when someone overtakes the holder.
Longest Route
The longest unbroken line of Roads, at least 5 long. Another player’s Village or Town breaks a route.
Strongest Regiment
The most Sepoys played, at least 3. A tie keeps the award where it is.
Claim the win
You win the moment you reach 10 points during your own turn. Hit 10 on someone else’s turn and you win as your next turn starts.
